Taste of Chicago

This week was (or still is) the taste of Chicago at Grant Park! We have been here a whole two years and have not gone. This was our first year and we had a blast. It was a nice get away after the stressful week and then some. It was easy to get lost in the crowds.....

The day started out overcast and cool. The sun popped out while we were there and me with no sunscreen. so -imagine me now nursing a bad burn!!!! (LOL)

The girls even partook in the festivities by trying some tastes. It was fun for them to try the "tastes" because they weren't committed to food they might not like.

The "Taste" portions were fun for us because you could partake in many different food items between the four of you and still not feel FULL! (Or Gorged)

I got the special of the day "Salmon puff pastry with spinach and some cheese" (translated in Italian????) and it came with Lemon. All the girls wanted to try were the lemon.

I thought these were classic pictures!!!!! I must have the only wierded out girls in the world that love to suck on lemons!

These super duper Italian French Fries were our first food try .... Not bad.....

And the ice cream was the girls first food try..... Of course - ice cream..... I think they were in heaven with all the ice cream choices there as "tastes!"

And of course... there was down time listening to concerts and watching people, eatting yadda yadda.... and I knit. Yup there I am knitting my sock. A couple of people stopped to talk to me about knitting and wish they had brought theirs as well. One lady recognized the pattern - Jaywalker. Impressive!!!!

As you can tell - it was crowded... easy to get lost and have fun, relax and escape reality for a few moments during the day.

And of course the beautiful fountain at Grant Park......

The girls couldn't get over how big it was. What's even funnier... there is a cardboard type replica in our lobby at work over out drinking fountain. Not quite as impressive (okay not at all is it impressive).

Sea World (is there a Sea World in Chicago?) set up a kid's tent for tatoo's. Of course the girls were GEEKED!!!!!!! Simple lil tatoos. (temporary of course).

Natalie was having a hard time figuring out where to put the Tatoo. Rowan was not as picky.....

Rowan stepped right up and plopped out her arm.

She was happy with the results..... and I think she still has it today??

Rowan felt like a "Big Girl" by getting the tattoo..... It's the simple things in life when it comes to kids..... that's the golden rule!!!!
