Missionaries!
In general and specific people. I am totally inspired by a person or family who recieves and accepts the call of God for them to do long term missions in other countries and here. I think we get caught up in "mission trips" being abroad when there are several places in America that are true mission fields. Inner city, Reservations, farm lands, remote back hill areas, big cities, small cities.... Someone that is so sold out for God, whether they are single or married with a family, is willing to literally drop everything worldly and most like a security blanket to them to bring the word of God or help in an area so needy for help truly inspires me. It's something that I feel a call on my life for and struggle with my security blankets as well as the position it would put my family. Long Term or Short Term missions are a huge undertaking. It means time away from your job (paycheck security blanket), time away from your family and friends(social security blanket), a bit of inconvienence and hardship (comfort security blanket), and some hint of safety concerns (safety security blanket). I am inspired by stories, what drives them, their faith, the lives they have changed and they lives they will change. I am drawn to these people and humbled by these people. I want to be immersed in this culture and surrender to this calling but find it so hard sometimes.
I know this is a calling on my life, God's purpose for me, and I know that I am (as well as my family) taking baby steps to fulfill this destiny. I am sure God wants me taking a lil bigger steps but for now baby steps are comfortable. I see the same developing in Natalie as well. My hubby - 100% behind this and Rowan is a "whatever" vote. We try to expose the girls to as much stories as possible as well as friends of ours that are missionaires. My trip to India, our trip to Austraila last year and inner city programs that I am involved in all inspire me and keep me on track. But Missionairies are the ones that truly inspire me.
What inspires you?

Love your inspiration. I think it's great that you feel that calling. It's not an easy thing, but I am sure it will be well worth it.
