Key points learned so far!!!!!!
G'Day!!!!!! Sorry again for the marathon posts..... I type a little save and go on.... I go to an internet cafe' and type again and save....
So - unbelievable conference (Have I said that already?)
A few points I have garnered from here..... (and this is just the first two days - not even the entire second day... there is so much to share.... so much we have been filled with.....)
Enuf with the Sloppy Agape! I love this..... What does that mean - it means - we are Christians at church... on Sunday - Praise God, welcome to church, Jesus loves you right where you are.... right where you are at.... Praise God, Welcome to our church, come and worship - THEN!!!!! On Monday (or soon after church is over) we begin to size them up based on what they are wearing, the hair style, the earring, the life they HAD. We start to back stab, gossip, size them up.... We need to focus on what Christ is doing in their lives, and love them where they are AT. Love them for who THEY are in Christ. We do not need to transform them on the outside - CHRIST does the transformation on the INSIDE - their heart! We need to love them. We don't need to have a check list for how they should LOOK, ACT and BE. By whose standards? Our's or Christs?
The bible does not preach conformity but TRANSFORMATION.
God has given us a race to run, each one of us. This race is our Purpose. In order to be an effective Christian (fulfilling your purpose) in this Post Modern, Socialistic, without a purpose world - you must first be SEATED IN CHRIST. If you are SEATED in Christ then you can STAND against the devil. Once you have been SEATED in Christ and can STAND against the devil you may then begin to WALK your WALK. Once you WALK your WALK you may begin to RUN the race to fulfill your God Given purpose on Earth.
Moses is Dead. (hello....) What that means is - MOVE on from the past. Joshua 1:10. God told them Moses was dead - basically he was saying - MOVE ON. Yes Moses is dead - MOVE ON. God wants us to do that... MOVE ON. Whatever your past was, whatever you are grieving MOVE ON! Get past it. Don't let it hold you back. You have been Transformed by the Blood of Christ - and he will restore you. WALK ON!
Christianity if full of "The Spirit of Hippocracy" and the "Spiritual Visitation." What this means is - we have a face for church. We have a mask we wear for church, and when we are around church people. If you were to have a judge and jury come to where you work (your social hang outs, your friends places, etc) would you be convicted of being a Christian? This is KEY to winning Souls for Christ. If people look at you and do not see how God has TRANSFORMED you - then you are not a witness and we will never win souls to Christ. Many people define themselves by their professions OR their story. YOU are YOUR story. Your story is not about you. IT is about how God has transformed you.... Bearing Witness to the truth... for this purpose you were born. Our stories - our lives - should point to Christ. This is the key to winning souls for Christ.
Lastly - A key to reaching this Post Modern Socialistic, politically correct, without a purpose, atheist generation - is ABSOLUTE TRUTH! The is this pervasive belief there are NO Absolute truths. We need to PREACH the absolute truth - as God has taught us. We need to bring this to the lost generation standing before us....
In this age of tolerance we must stand up and say - There is only one way - Jesus. Jesus said - I am the way, the truth and the life. There is only one God. We need to live our lives as if that is our Absolute Truth. This is how we reach this lost generation.
Community Action - (okay I lied - there was another important point). This generation is not interested in your bible tracks, your preaching hellfire and brimstone. This generation is not interested in "Jesus loves me this I know...." This generation (the post modern, lost without a purpose, socialistic, relgiously tolerant, athiestic society we live in) wants to know what WE as Christians are going to do for them. What does Christ have to offer them.... Community Action. Hillsong church floated along, bring in people, growing slowly. Worship team grew, recorded albums, toured, etc. BUT - they began community action groups. They dug into their society to make a difference - exhibiting Christ's love. They were AFFIRMING their Transformation. That was when they started to grow by LEAPS and bounds..... You want to draw your community, your friends, your society to you - Community action. Again - living the Absolute Truth.....
And I so do not have time to tie this all in together.... I know it all seems scattered. I have little time to type and mucho time to do.... We are both exhausted it seems - from the conference, running around Sydney... meeting new people. But we are truly having a blast. Learning so much... hearing from God.... having questions answered and more questions sparked. Praise God!!!
As always - Miss you girls.... hope you are behaving and not tiring Grammie and Grampie out too awful bad. BIG HUG Ro and Nat... Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig Hug and smooooooochies to you. I hope to deliver pictures soon!!!!!
