G'Day from Downunder!!!!!!
WE HAVE ARRIVED AND ARE SETTLED. I apologize for the tardiness of my posts - and unfortunately you are going to get a PAGE full in one sitting. The internet cafe's are ALL OVER but we are also ALL OVER!
It is unbeeeeelievably AWESOME here! The weather is spectacular!! The city is brimming with excitement. The Harbors and beaches scream REST! Relax and ENJOY! The sky is crisp and clear (quite obvious there is no ozone - JOKE)
I miss my girls (HI NAT AND RO!) and wish I could post some pictures but my better half is off with the camera snappin photos of things at the conference!
THE CONFERENCE - unfathomably awesome! I don't even know WHERE to begin! So many things have touched my life and I know that Norm has his own topics being peaked. I wasn't sure what to expect and in all honesty the expectancy was totally off. God is working here at this conference - in many subtle and overt ways. It's so wonderfully amazing to sit here - half way around the world, on the other side of the equator beyond the International Date Line - and share the same faith, same belief, same passion - for God. My eyes have been totally openned to many things I took for granted, understood as "accepted" and assumptions destroyed. (more on that later....)
First off - the only ONLY reason we are here is by the works of God. I wish I could say that the flights went smoothly and there were no issues getting from point a to point b to point c.... but there were. No Worries (New phrase I have learned)!!!! In the end we are here, safely and together (sorry mom I called you at 0100 in the AM and worried you..... we are here safely!)
Long story short - I now know why United Airlines is in bankruptcy.... Seriously - there were so many disgruntled passengers at the airports with alterec flights, flights that were canceled or misdirected. Layovers that didn't match up w connecting flights and ooopse - we don't have a plane for your flight. I think - upon entering the airport (actually before I left home)I was praying vehementaly that all would work out. Norm and I had alternate routes to San Fran to hook up to Sydney. Not a problem. ONLY - my flight was delayed to San Fran and Norm's flight was misdirected in Las Vegas and THEN the plane did not exist. When I arrived in San Fran - there was no Norm.... Despite the confidence of the UA personnel that he would make it in time to the departing gate - I was praying that God would just get him there. Finally - broken down in tears that he was not going to make it - because he was stuck at customs without a ticket (since they printed his tix at the departure gate and gave it to me....) security (obviously being a sucker for a red head sobbing in the terminal) took off running for customs with his tix. They held the flight for him... and we were on the flight TOGETHER! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!! I had Faith God would come thru - but I tell you it was the faith of a very teeny tiny mustard seed..... (I am ashamed to say)
Ok - More later..... must go partake in the excitement.....
Girls - I MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!! And vow to bring you here someday soon!!!!! (God Willing)
