Five more minutes to decide???

Our Pastor asked an interesting question at our bible study tonite. He asked what we would want printed on our tombstone after we die. Mine was already in my journal - "Well done Good and Faithful Jesus Freak." Our Pastor's was "Still following Jesus." One of the mission students that is attending our study said "Walking the streets of Gold." Many people attending had issues with the question. I guess, in reality it's not a subject you want to think about because - it's one of those times, when it comes - you are thinking now - just five more mintues.... : ) Seriously - I think we ignore, push aside, brush under the carpet - however you want to say it - our "mortality." So understandably - it's a question you are not ready to hear.
I reflected on this later in my journal - basically what he was asking was "what do we want to be remembered for - or remembered as." I want to be remembered as a "history maker" even if it's a 'history maker' to my children, or a 'history maker' to my family and friends. I want to leave a legacy of love, caring and just being there for my girls. Nicole Nordeman sum's it up well in her song "Legacy." But Hillsong makes a great summary in a song's interlude called "History Maker." I wanted to close my blog today with that quote.

Being a History Maker…
More about the choices you make,
more about the songs you sing…
It’s about staying married
to the person
you promised to be with,
It’s about honoring your friends
before yourself,
And …..
it’s about walking humbly
before the King of Kings….
--- HILLSONG (History Maker)

That's what I want to be remembered as - a History Maker......

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week - we have begun the FINAL countdown to the Hillsong Conference in Australia!!!!! 29 more days to go...........
